At the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan will pay a state visit to Uzbekistan on March 26–27, the Uzbek president’s press service reported.

According to the statement, the visit will include high-level talks, as well as the first meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council, chaired by the leaders of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.

The agenda of the upcoming events will focus on further strengthening Uzbekistan–Tajikistan relations of friendship and good neighborliness, as well as strategic partnership and alliance.

Particular attention will be given to enhancing political dialogue, expanding trade, economic and interregional cooperation, developing industrial cooperation and transport connectivity, ensuring water and energy security, and continuing large-scale cultural and humanitarian exchanges.

The two leaders are also expected to exchange views on pressing international and regional issues, as well as cooperation within multilateral frameworks.

In addition, the launch of several new joint projects is planned, along with the signing of a number of bilateral documents aimed at further developing comprehensive cooperation.

It is worth noting that in November 2025, President Emomali Rahmon visited Tashkent on a working visit to participate in the seventh Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
