In Namangan Region, an individual was detained for attempting to sell leased land for USD 60,000. This was reported by the Prosecutor General’s Office.
According to the report, based on an application submitted by citizen Q.Sh. to the Land Resources Misappropriation Prevention Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Namangan Regional Department of Internal Affairs, an оператив-search operation was conducted jointly with the regional prosecutor’s office and other law enforcement agencies.
During the operation, it was established that citizen G.R. had offered to sell to Q.Sh. a 5-hectare land plot located in Chust District and leased for a period of 49 years to the “R.J.” farming enterprise for vegetable growing and horticulture activities, at a price of USD 60,000. He also promised to assist in obtaining a permit, through acquaintances working at the Chust District administration, to change the designated use of 8 sotik (0.08 hectares) of the land to residential status.
The suspect was detained with material evidence while receiving an advance payment of USD 30,000 from the agreed amount.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 168, Part 4, Clause “a” of the Criminal Code (fraud), and investigative actions have commenced.
It is worth noting that earlier reports stated that a 53-year-old individual was detained in Uchqorgon District of Namangan Region for organizing an illegal gambling house at his residence.
