Creative professionals to receive housing and rent support

Starting now, 50% of the initial mortgage payment will be covered each year for 1,000 poets, writers, cultural and art figures, museum workers and artists to help them purchase housing. This was announced today, June 1, during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s meeting with workers in the fields of culture and art.

According to the information, many cultural and art professionals come from other regions to work in creative organizations and cultural institutions. Starting today, their housing rent expenses will be covered up to 2.5 million soums per month in Tashkent and up to 1.6 million soums in the regions.

Each year, 1,000 sector employees who achieve good results in their work will receive free medical treatment at the expense of the State Health Insurance Fund. Another 2,000 creative professionals will be provided with a state-funded medical insurance package. Employees who have worked for at least 10 years will receive free vouchers to sanatoriums.

Starting June 15, creative professionals with high honorary titles such as People’s Artist, People’s Poet and People’s Writer will be allowed to use VIP lounges at airports and railway stations free of charge.

To support song and dance ensembles, the salaries of all their employees will be doubled starting September 1.

For dancers, the required dance experience for retirement will be reduced from 20 years to 15 years, and they will be allowed to continue the remaining five years as choreographers, répétiteurs or teachers.

The President proposed building a modern and grand Dance Palace next to the Maqom Center, which has begun construction in New Tashkent. Officials were instructed to develop a major program for the development of dance art.

It was also noted that the system for financing and materially encouraging composers and songwriters will be fully revised.

Every year, they will receive state commissions to create at least 20 new works in classical and modern genres, including opera and symphony.

It was emphasized that national melodies and songs should be regularly played at airports, railway stations, metro stations, parks, major shopping and service facilities, cafes and restaurants.
