A 20-year-old woman fell into a ravine while skiing at a resort near Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, Sputnik Kyrgyzstan reported.
The incident occurred on February 8 at the Kashka-Suu mountain ski resort, where the woman had gone skiing with friends. After purchasing a ski pass, the group began skiing, but the woman, moving at high speed, broke through a safety rope barrier and fell into the ravine.
She is currently in intensive care. Doctors diagnosed multiple fractures, including a spinal injury. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
Earlier, reports said American alpine skier Lindsey Vonn underwent surgery after a serious fall at the Winter Olympics in Italy.
