Comedian Mirzabek Kholmedov awarded the Order of Labor Glory

The director of the State Satire Theater of Uzbekistan and master of artistic performance Mirzabek Kholmedov has been awarded the Order of “Labor Glory.” The decree was signed today, August 23, by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Kholmedov was honored for his contribution to strengthening Uzbekistan’s independence and for his efforts to raise the intellectual potential and spiritual values of the people through his talent, as well as for his broad creative, scientific, and practical activities.

The following individuals were also awarded the Order of “Labor Glory”:

  •  Nasrulla Jalilovich Abdullayev – Deputy Director of the Institute of Chemistry of Plant Substances, Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan
  •  Farida Shorahimovna Akbarova – Director of “Boston Sanatorium” LLC under the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, Tashkent Region
  •  Ibragim Rahmonovich Askarov – Professor, Department of Chemistry, Andijan State University
  •  Hakimakhon Otakhonova – Leading Stage Master, Uzbekistan State Theater for Young Spectators
  •  Nizomiddin Fayzullayevich Botyrov – Director, 8th General Secondary School, Oqqo‘rg‘on District, Tashkent Region
  •  Vahob Rahmonov – Associate Professor, Department of Uzbek Literature, Gulistan State University
  •  Mirvohid Mirahmadovich Rahmatov – Member of the Union of Artists of Uzbekistan, ganchkor master, Tashkent
  •  Tal’at Soatov – Head of the Laboratory, Institute of Biophysics and Biochemistry, National University of Uzbekistan
  •  Kilich Musajonovich Tojiyev – Director, 14th Children’s Music and Art School, Oltiariq District; singer, Fergana Region

Mirzabek Kholmedov was born on December 13, 1961, in Tashkent. After graduating from the institute, he founded “Mirzo Theater,” which he expanded over the years with fellow comedians Shukurullo Isroilov and Valijon Shamshiyev, whom he met during his student days. In 1985, Kholmedov performed the role of Hidoyatkhan in the play “Maysara’s Tricks,” directed by N. Abdurakhmonov at the Abror Hidoyatov Uzbek State Drama Theater.

Earlier, Karim Mirhodiev, a member of the Creative Union of Cinematographers of Uzbekistan and a film and theater actor; Saida Rametova, actress of the Uzbek National Academic Drama Theater; and Tokhir Saidov, actor of the Uzbek National Academic Drama Theater, were awarded the honorary title of “People’s Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”
