News that a prospective groom fraudulently sold the home of his fiancée, which circulated on social media, had led to various discussions. The man has been arrested and a measure of restraint in the form of detention has been applied against him. This was reported by the Tashkent City Main Internal Affairs Directorate (MIID).
It is noted that in August 2024, Sh. R. (the man), born in 1997, gained the trust of Sh. A. (the woman), born in 1999, by promising to marry her. However, he fraudulently sold her house to another citizen for $240,000, claiming that he had problems before the wedding and needed to temporarily mortgage her house, promising to marry her once his issues were resolved.
A criminal case was initiated against Sh. R. under Article 168 (Fraud), Part 4, Paragraph "a" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and a measure of restraint in the form of detention was implemented.
Furthermore, during the preliminary investigation conducted by the Investigation Department under the Tashkent City MIID, it was established that Sh. R. had committed several other instances of fraud against different citizens.
Investigation activities have been conducted for all cases, and the collected documents have been sent with an indictment to the Mirzo Ulugbek District Court for criminal cases to take legal action following the conclusion of the investigation. Court proceedings within the scope of this criminal case have now begun.
It is worth noting that a man in Fergana, who gained the trust of a girl by promising to marry her and "milked" her for a long period, was previously sentenced to six years in prison.
