Yesterday, on November 30, a passenger bus carrying 54 Uzbek citizens was involved in a traffic accident in the Aktobe region, Kazakhstan, the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Aktau reported.
According to the authorized bodies of Kazakhstan, at 21:00 on the “Russian Federation – Aktobe – Kyzylorda – Almaty” national highway, a VanHool passenger bus with license plate 774BOT13, traveling on the “Moscow – Tashkent” route, was involved in a traffic accident.
At the time of the accident, there were 54 Uzbek citizens on board. No injuries or fatalities were reported. All passengers were temporarily accommodated at a mosque in the village of Qorabutoq, Aiteke Bi district, Aktobe region, by emergency services and police officers. Food and necessary assistance are being provided to the citizens.
“Measures are being taken to quickly return the citizens to Uzbekistan by another bus. The situation is under full control of the Embassy and Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan, and constant communication has been established with the responsible authorities of Kazakhstan,” the report said.
It is worth noting that earlier, a bus carrying 5 Uzbek passengers caught fire in the Karaganda region, Kazakhstan. No one was injured in that incident.
