Kazakhstan’s Minister of Agriculture has signed an order “On the prohibition of the import of fresh chicken eggs into the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.” The ban will remain in effect for six months. This was reported on the website of the Reference Control Bank of Regulatory Legal Acts.
“The import of fresh chicken eggs into the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan from third countries and member states of the Eurasian Economic Union by all types of transport is prohibited for a period of six months. Transit of fresh chicken eggs through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as their movement from the territory of one Eurasian Economic Union member state to another through Kazakhstan, shall be exempt from this restriction,” the order states.
The document entered into force on April 21, and the ban will remain in effect for six months.
According to poultry industry representatives, egg prices in Kazakhstan fluctuate in different directions approximately five times over the course of the year. Typically, prices fall in summer, when consumers substitute eggs with fruits and vegetables. In autumn, producers tend to raise prices above the average level to offset losses incurred during the summer period.
Earlier, it was reported that Kazakhstan had extended a temporary ban on the export of gasoline, diesel fuel, and certain types of petroleum products from its territory.
