Kazakhstan will extend the temporary ban on the export of gasoline, diesel fuel, and certain petroleum products from its territory. This was announced on April 17 by the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan.
According to the draft order, the ban will be extended until November 21, 2026. The document provides for a prohibition on the export of petroleum products by road transport, including shipments to member states of the Eurasian Economic Union. At the same time, restrictions on the export of light distillates by rail will remain in place.
In addition, the ministry reported that the existing ban on exporting light distillates, aviation kerosene, diesel fuel, gasoil, toluene, xylene, and petroleum bitumen to destinations outside the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union from July 1 to December 31, 2026, will also be extended.
“The adopted measures are aimed at ensuring Kazakhstan’s energy security and maintaining stability in the domestic petroleum products market,” the ministry said.
It is worth noting that earlier, the government of Russia extended temporary restrictions on gasoline exports until July 31, including for direct producers of petroleum products.
