Person possessing fake $120.000 in Kokand detained

A 22-year-old person keeping fake 315,5 million soums and $120,000 to introduce them into circulation has been arrested, the State Security Service reported. 

It is stated that during the rapid search operations held by the SSS’s Kokand city department of the Fergana region directorate within the framework of combatting economic crimes, a citizen born in 2003 was found engaged in circulating fake money.  

In a swift action jointly taken with the Kokand city department of the Economic crimes combat department under the General Prosecutor’s Office, a person was apprehended with physical evidence while selling fake 50 million soums  to the “undercover buyer” for 8 million soums. 

Having continued the operation, his residence was also inspected in the presence of impartial observers. As a result, counterfeit banknotes of 50,000, 100,000, and 200,000 soums worth overall 315,5 million soums, as well as banknotes of $100 worth overall $120,000 had been found and seized with the proper protocol. 

A criminal case has been initiated against the “seller” of fake money and preventive measures are being implemented to identify those who supplied him with fake money.  

Earlier, individuals attempting to sell fake $20,000 for $14,000 were arrested in the Namangan region’s Kosonsoy district.
