Uzbekistan national team assistant coach Temur Kapadze is reportedly among the candidates to take charge of Indonesia’s national football team, according to Goalmedia.

The source reports that there are three candidates being considered for the position: former Iraq national team head coach Jesús Casas, former Persija Jakarta head coach Thomas Doll, and Uzbekistan’s assistant coach Temur Kapadze.

It is worth noting that the Indonesian Football Federation and the team’s head coach, Patrick Kluivert, recently terminated their contract by mutual agreement. The 49-year-old Kluivert had been managing Indonesia’s national team since January 2025 under a contract that was set to run until 2027, with an option for extension. Under his leadership, the team played eight matches, winning three, losing four, and drawing one.

Kluivert’s dismissal came after Indonesia finished last in Group B of the 2026 World Cup Asian Qualifiers, failing to earn a single point and missing out on advancing to the final stage of the tournament.
