Man detained after taking 65 million soums on promise of sending person to Korea for work

A man has been detained in the Zarbdor district of Jizzakh region after allegedly taking 65 million soums from a citizen in exchange for a promise to send him to South Korea for employment, the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General’s Office reported.
According to the report, a pre-investigation check conducted by the department’s Zarbdor district division to protect citizens’ rights found that the suspect, identified as Sh.R., gained the trust of citizen E.M. and promised to send his son to work in South Korea. In return, he allegedly obtained 65 million soums through fraud.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 168 of the Criminal Code, which covers fraud, and investigative actions are under way.
It is worth noting that earlier, a man was detained in Tashkent after allegedly taking $75,000 from a citizen by promising to send him to the United States for work.
