Mirziyoyev visits Islam Karimov’s mausoleum

Today, March 22, at the conclusion of his visit to Samarkand, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Hazrati Khizr complex and paid respects at the mausoleum of the First President, Islam Karimov. The president’s press service reported this.
During the visit, verses from the Quran were recited, and prayers were offered.
Honoring the memory of the deceased and maintaining cemeteries are among the noble traditions of the Uzbek people. This mausoleum was built under the leadership of President Mirziyoyev and has since become a revered site of pilgrimage. Acts of goodwill such as this are especially visible during the holy month of Ramadan.
It should be noted that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev previously visited the mausoleum of Imam Bukhari.
