President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has begun a state visit to Azerbaijan. During the visit, the Head of State will travel to Baku, Khonjendir, Shusha, and Agdam. This was reported by the Presidential Press Secretary, Sherzod Asadov.

Today, July 2, the leaders of the two countries will hold the second meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council, lay the foundation stone for the "Uzbekistan" Park, and inaugurate the new building of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Baku.

Tomorrow, July 3, Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Ilham Aliyev will continue their dialogue in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan. They are expected to visit a joint garment factory in Khonjendir and the "Imorat" historical and architectural complex in Agdam.

A significant package of agreements on industrial cooperation has been prepared in anticipation of the visit.

“The eventful program of the visit demonstrates the unprecedentedly high level of Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations, which were elevated to the level of alliance in 2024, and is a logical continuation of the agreements reached during previous meetings of the two heads of state,” the report said.

It should be noted that in August 2023, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and First Lady Ziroatkhon Mirziyoyeva paid a state visit to Azerbaijan. During that visit, they also toured the Karabakh region and inaugurated Mirzo Ulugbek School No. 1, built by Uzbekistan, in the city of Fuzuli.
