Mirziyoyev: I personally got stuck in a traffic jam for 20 Minutes

On July 9, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed the presentation of the “Atlas of Solutions” for Tashkent and New Tashkent. The information was reported by the presidential press service.

The “Atlas of Solutions” is described as a logical extension of the Tashkent master plan, which outlines the city's development strategy up to 2045. It defines general requirements for urban aesthetics and the street environment. The atlas consists of five volumes that establish guidelines for the design, installation, and use of various facilities. Each volume includes recommendations for organizing and enhancing public spaces, as well as standardizing the architectural appearance of building exteriors.

"According to the current practice in Uzbekistan, road construction and repair are typically conducted up to the “red line” of the carriageway. However, in many developed cities, these works are extended from building to building on both sides of the street. This approach eliminates neglected spaces and ensures comprehensive landscaping along roadsides," the report stated.

The atlas aims to promote sustainable development and incorporate national elements into the urban design process. It supports the creation of harmonious, environmentally friendly public spaces and helps avoid errors in the planning of future open areas, thereby improving residents’ quality of life.

During the presentation, the core principles of the atlas and the tasks ahead were discussed. President Mirziyoyev issued instructions to further enhance the city's appearance, improve roadside conditions, and elevate the cultural quality of urban life while preserving Tashkent’s unique identity.

It is worth noting that earlier on the same day, at a video conference on road safety and traffic congestion, the president remarked that visible improvements are occurring in areas where local mayors and the Ministry of Transport are working closely to modernize road infrastructure.
