Illegal electricity use worth 1.5 billion soums uncovered in Namangan

A company in the Namangan region has been found to have illegally consumed electricity worth 1.5 billion soums, the Inspection for Control over the Use of Electricity, Petroleum Products, and Gas reported.
According to the report, during an inspection in the Turaqorgon district of Namangan region, a concrete and brick production workshop belonging to the family enterprise “O.O.” was found to be unlawfully connected to the power grid without a contract and using electricity illegally.
As a result of the violation, damage amounting to 1 billion 558 million soums was caused to the electricity supply company.
Earlier, it was reported that a similar case involving illegal use of electricity worth 1 billion soums had been identified in the Denov district of Surkhandarya region.
