Man detained in Namangan for hiding drugs in phone case

A man was arrested in the Mingbulok district of the Namangan region for hiding narcotics inside a phone case. The regional department of Internal Affairs reported the incident.

According to the information, during an operational event conducted on October 1 of this year, a resident of the ’’Mulkobod’’ neighborhood in Mingbulok district was inspected in the presence of witnesses. As a result, 2 grams of hashish were found concealed inside his phone case.

Following the incident, the Investigation department under the Mingbulok district department of Internal Affairs initiated a criminal case under Article 276 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Illegal production, possession, storage, or other actions with narcotic drugs, their analogs, or psychotropic substances without intent to sell). Investigative actions are currently underway.

It is worth noting that earlier, individuals who had hidden a total of 77 kilograms and 410 grams of narcotics were detained in the Syrdarya district of the Syrdarya region.
