In Uzbekistan, admissions to the first grade of general secondary schools for the 2026–2027 academic year will be carried out entirely in electronic form. This was announced by the Ministry of Preschool and School Education.

According to the ministry, the admission process will be conducted in two stages. Applications within a school’s designated microdistrict will be accepted online from June 20 to July 31, while applications from outside the microdistrict will be accepted online from August 1 to August 31.

The number of districts and cities where online admissions have been introduced has increased from 64 to 135, while the number of schools covered by the system has risen from 1,956 to 5,689. Applications can be submitted through the Unified Interactive State Services Portal and the my.maktab.uz platform.

In line with the usual practice, the admission age for the new academic year has been set for children who have turned seven. For the 2026–2027 academic year, this applies to children born on or before December 31, 2019.

In areas where the online system has not yet been introduced, admissions will continue to be handled directly by schools under the standard procedure. In addition, to ensure transparency in the admission process, all relevant information will be publicly displayed at schools.

It was also reported that Presidential gift packages containing 12 types of school supplies will be delivered to all schools by August 20 of this year.

It is worth noting that earlier, 23 students from School No. 11, a specialized school in Navoi focused on in-depth teaching of exact sciences, were admitted to university ahead of schedule.
