9-month-old baby dies in Parkent hospital

A 9-month-old baby has died in the Parkent district of the Tashkent region. This was reported by the regional Health Department.

According to the report, on July 26, 2025, at 17:45, a district resident, B.M., brought her daughter R.S., born on October 21, 2024, to the infectious diseases department of the Parkent District Medical Association due to high fever and signs of anxiety. The child was examined by an infectious disease specialist and prescribed the necessary treatment.

According to the mother, while on her way to the pharmacy, the child vomited, and the vomit came out of both her mouth and nose. She was then brought back to the doctor for a second examination, and additional treatment was prescribed.

“Despite the medical assistance provided, the child’s condition deteriorated, and at 20:50 she was transferred to the intensive care unit. There, the resuscitation doctor diagnosed her with acute respiratory infection, bilateral pneumonia, hyperthermia, brain edema, and neurotoxicosis.

Despite all standard emergency medical interventions, biological death was recorded at 04:10 on July 27,” the statement said.

It is reported that a forensic medical examination has been ordered in connection with the case. The Tashkent Regional Health Department has launched an investigation.

It is worth noting that last month, a 16-year-old girl died at a hospital in Samarkand following nose surgery. A forensic medical examination was also ordered for that case.
