Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico to visit Uzbekistan

At the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Robert Fico will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan from June 8 to 10. The visit was announced by the Presidential Press Service.
According to the program, high-level talks will take place in Tashkent, during which the sides will discuss the further development of multifaceted Uzbek-Slovak cooperation.
Special attention will be given to strengthening partnerships in key sectors such as trade, investment and innovation, agriculture, industry, energy, and tourism.
The agenda also includes discussions on organized labor migration, as well as cooperation in cultural, humanitarian, and educational spheres. The two leaders will exchange views on international issues, including mutual support in multilateral organizations.
Following the talks, a number of bilateral documents are expected to be signed, aimed at deepening mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and Slovakia.
As part of his visit, Prime Minister Fico will also participate in the 4th Tashkent International Investment Forum.
It is worth recalling that Uzbekistan recently appointed its first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Slovakia, Bakhtiyor Ibragimov, who is based in Vienna. Ambassador Ibragimov presented his credentials to Slovak President Peter Pellegrini. During the subsequent meeting, both sides discussed the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations.
