Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo, who recently proposed to his partner, has praised one of the key strikers of Lisbon’s Sporting FC — the club where he began his professional career — Viktor Gyökeres. This was reported by Gazeta Express, citing Ronaldo’s interview with journalists.

According to the report, the Al Nassr forward described Gyökeres, who recently joined Arsenal FC, in just two words. Ronaldo also shared positive thoughts about his boyhood club, Sporting.

“I want the competition in this league to be strong. I always wish Sporting the best and hope it becomes champion again.

Gyökeres? It is often said that we never forget those who have won our hearts! I believe Sporting will find a suitable replacement and continue competing.

Gyökeres is a fantastic player, but the club now has to adapt without him,” the Portuguese legend said.

Ronaldo’s praise for the Swedish striker has delighted Arsenal fans, who see Gyökeres as a promising forward. The Gunners hope to secure the Premier League title this season after finishing second for three consecutive years.

It is worth noting that Gyökeres played 102 matches for Sporting, scoring 97 goals and providing 27 assists. The 27-year-old striker was recently transferred to Arsenal for €63.5 million plus €10 million in bonuses.
