Man kills brother-in-law and attempts to bury him in Samarkand

In Samarkand, a man was caught trying to transport the body of his brother-in-law for burial. The incident was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the report, the heads of the Navbogchiyan and Bostan neighborhoods were inspecting the area when they noticed a man and a woman moving an unidentified object in a plastic container toward a cemetery using a child’s cart on August 24 at around 5:30 am.

Suspecting something unusual, the neighborhood heads followed them and observed that there was no child in the cart. When questioned about its contents, the man and woman attempted to conceal the body. They eventually abandoned the cart and tried to flee. Upon being stopped and questioned further, the man admitted that his brother-in-law had died at home and that he had planned to bury him secretly.

’’I noticed something suspicious under the cart and followed them. Near the cemetery, I caught them in the act. It turned out that the man was trying to bury his brother-in-law, whom he had killed. I immediately informed the police and stopped them. When I asked what had happened, he said that his brother-in-law had come home and died, and they wanted to secretly bury him in front of my sister,’’ one of the neighborhood heads said. 

The police quickly arrived at the scene and intervened to prevent the crime. The Ministry of Internal Affairs awarded the neighborhood heads, Adham Rahimov and Azam Ostonqulov, with commendation medals for their alertness and prompt action.

It is worth noting that earlier, an 18-year-old man stabbed and killed his brother-in-law in the Surkhandarya region.
