In Samarkand, the heritage of Amir Temur and Mirzo Ulugbek is being showcased in a multimedia format. This was announced by Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration and the eldest daughter of the President of Uzbekistan, on her Telegram channel.
According to Mirziyoyeva, following extensive restoration and modernization of exhibitions, Samarkand’s famous landmarks — the mausoleum of Amir Temur and the Ulugbek and Tillaqori madrasas on Registan Square — have taken on a renewed appearance while preserving the authentic spirit and grandeur of their era.
“Hundreds of rare exhibits — from Mirzo Ulugbek’s manuscripts to archival documents related to the history of Amir Temur — are now being displayed in multimedia format,” Mirziyoyeva wrote.
She added that delegates of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference will soon have the opportunity to appreciate the rich treasures of Uzbekistan’s ancient capital.
Earlier, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Samarkand on October 30 to attend the opening ceremony of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, where he also visited the mausoleum of Imam Bukhari and planted a tree.
