In an interview with the Turkistan newspaper, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev spoke about his own physical activity as well as that of other CIS leaders, noting that President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is in good physical shape and regularly trains at a gym.
Tokayev first responded to a journalist’s question: “Recently, President Trump published information about his health. You, however, are more reserved on this matter. As a result, various rumors are circulating about your health: some say you have lost weight and look better, while others claim the opposite. Could you comment on this?” In his reply, Tokayev said he has no health complaints, adding that his blood pressure is stable and within the normal range.
“I practice yoga every day, but I do not meditate. Once or twice a week, I play table tennis with a former professional athlete. I have indeed lost nine kilograms, which has helped me feel much better,” the Kazakh leader said.
According to Tokayev, most CIS leaders follow a healthy lifestyle. In particular, he mentioned the President of Uzbekistan in the interview as a physically fit leader.
“Putin recently defended the honor of the older generation by using a judo technique against a young judoka at an informal event in Bishkek. Ilham Aliyev is also physically strong and trains regularly and professionally. Sadyr Japarov plays football. Shavkat Mirziyoyev is in good physical condition and works out at the gym. Nikol Pashinyan is a cyclist. Alexander Lukashenko, as it turns out, still plays hockey. Emomali Rahmon also has no health complaints and possesses the endurance typical of a fighter and sailor. In short, the physical condition of all my colleagues is excellent,” the President of Kazakhstan said.
