Next year, automobile production will begin in Syrdarya District of Syrdarya Region in cooperation with Chinese partners. This was announced today, 4 December, during an extraordinary session of the Syrdarya Regional Council of People’s Deputies, attended by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The project is valued at 122 million dollars. In addition, the Central Asia International Industrial Cooperation Center in Syrdarya District has recently been launched in collaboration with Kazakhstan. Within this center, 14 industrial enterprises worth 300 million dollars are expected to start operating by the end of the first quarter next year, while 40 new projects valued at 720 million dollars will be launched in 2026.
Last year, a new system aimed at increasing household incomes through small-scale industrial and service initiatives, including backyard production, was introduced in Saykhunobod. Effective use of household plots in 13,000 homes led to a several-fold increase in monthly incomes. In 1,800 households, greenhouses of 5–6 sotikh were built, and 622 households constructed 2–3 sotikh greenhouses. Over a year and a half, 700 new entrepreneurs started businesses, 15,000 unemployed people gained a regular income, and 1,500 families escaped poverty.
“If it can be done! Look at Saykhunobod, once one of the most challenging districts. You can see how life and people’s morale have changed today,” the President said.
It is worth noting that earlier, 52 buses were delivered to Guliston city to improve local road transportation. These buses fully meet Euro-5 standards and run on compressed natural gas. President Mirziyoyev was presented with the buses during a special demonstration.
