Well-known director Batir Bazarbaev passes away

Renowned film and television cameraman and director Batir Joldasovich Bazarbaev passed away at the age of 70 yesterday, September 15. The news was announced by his daughter, Shahnosa Joldasova, on her social media page.

’’Today, my father, Batir Bazarbaev, a member of the Creative Union of Cinematographers of Uzbekistan, the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, and the Board of the Guild of Cinematographers of Russia, as well as a professor at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi, has left this world. He was a true master of his craft, a mentor to thousands of students, and a man with colleagues all over the world. For my mother, he was the best life partner, and for us, he was a father who gave us everything,’’ his daughter wrote.

Batir Bazarbaev was born in 1955 in Nukus, Karakalpakstan. He was known to audiences as the cinematographer and director of several popular science and documentary films, including The Sea asks for water, Aral girls, Reach the sea, The Year of the dragon, Last year, and others.

It is worth noting that Yanika Bagryanskaya, a soloist of the Alisher Navoi State Academic Bolshoi Theatre, passed away at a clinic in Turkey after a long illness on September 7.
