Gas theft worth 2.6 billion soums uncovered at canning plant in Tashkent region

An illegal canning workshop in the Bektemir district of the Tashkent region was exposed for unlawfully consuming natural gas worth 2.6 billion soums. This was reported by the Department for combating economic crimes.
According to the investigation, citizen R.Q. had set up canning production inside a household located in the ’’Oltintopgan’’ neighborhood of Bektemir district without proper state registration. He had also illegally connected to the gas network without signing a contract with the district gas supply company, consuming 889,800 cubic meters of natural gas. As a result of this violation, damage worth 2.6 billion soums was caused to the interests of the state and society.
It was stated that a criminal case has been initiated under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and investigative proceedings are underway.
It is worth noting that earlier, a case of unlawful use of electricity worth 1.9 billion soums was recorded in the Namangan region.
