Man detained in Tashkent with 33,400 psychotropic pills (video)

Individuals found in possession of a large quantity of psychotropic substances have been detained in Zangiota district of Tashkent region, the State Security Service (DXX) reported.
According to the statement, during a special operation, a man born in 1996 and residing in Zangiota district, along with his 27-year-old acquaintance from Samarkand, were stopped and searched in the capital. Authorities found 8,400 tablets of the potent drug Regapen in their possession.
In addition, a house in Chilonzor district, which they had been using as a temporary storage facility, was searched. Officers discovered 12,600 tablets of Regapen and 10,000 units of various drugs of unidentified origin that had reportedly been manufactured using makeshift methods. Authorities also seized 500 containers used for packaging the drugs. A mini marking printer intended for labeling counterfeit drug packaging was confiscated as material evidence.
In a separate operation conducted jointly by the DXX’s Tashkent city department, internal affairs bodies and customs authorities, a man born in 1994 was detained while selling six tablets of the potent drug Zardeks for 600,000 soums.
The operation was subsequently extended, and a previously convicted individual born in 1987 and residing in Namangan, who had been supplying the drugs, was also detained in the capital. A total of 12,400 Zardeks tablets and 14 Regapen tablets were seized from his Tracker vehicle in accordance with procedural requirements.
Criminal cases have been initiated in both incidents, and investigative actions are currently underway.
Earlier, it was reported that 22 organized drug trafficking groups operating in Uzbekistan had been dismantled in January and February 2026.
