In Tashkent, 6,000 subscribers have temporarily lost the ability to pay for electricity due to unpaid waste management fees. This was reported by the Agency for Waste Management and Circular Economy Development.

According to the agency, on November 5, around 25,121 subscribers across Tashkent were notified via SMS from the short number ’’2100’’ of ’’Hududiy Elektr Tarmoqlari’’ JSC about outstanding waste collection debts amounting to approximately 2 billion 239 million soums. After five days had passed without repayment, restrictions were temporarily imposed on 6,000 subscribers, preventing them from making electricity payments.

It was noted that as of now, total outstanding waste management debt in Tashkent exceeds 582 million soums.

The agency added that these restrictions will be lifted immediately once the debts are settled. This measure does not apply to debts accumulated before June 30, 2025. Beginning November 5, it is being enforced for waste service debts formed after July 1, 2025.

The same procedure will be introduced across other regions of the country starting from December this year.

It should be recalled that earlier, over 2 billion soums in administrative fines were imposed in Tashkent on individuals who illegally dumped waste and violated sanitation rules.
