Individuals attempting to distribute “heroin” online arrested in Tashkent

During rapid-response operations in Tashkent, individuals attempting to distribute 30 grams of synthetic drugs and 55 grams of heroin via the internet were apprehended, the Customs Committee reported.

According to the agency, officers from the Anti-Smuggling Department of the Tashkent Regional Customs Directorate, in cooperation with the State Security Service, conducted the operation in Bektimir district, targeting individuals attempting to distribute narcotics online.

Two residents of Mirabad district, born in 1994, were caught searching for narcotics hidden under a tree along a street in Bektimir. The location had been previously communicated to them via messenger on their phones.

During the operation, authorities found four packages totaling approximately 30 grams of synthetic drugs under the tree. Laboratory analysis by the Central Customs Laboratory confirmed that the substance, known on the black market as “flekka” or “gravel,” was actually the synthetic narcotic “α-PVP.”

Additionally, the suspects’ phones contained instructions for 55 other locations across Mirzo Ulugbek, Uchtepa, and Chilanzar districts. Law enforcement officers inspected each location individually.

As a result, 55 grams of heroin were discovered hidden in small amounts (around 1 gram each) in stairwells, behind electrical meters, between apartment doors, and other hard-to-reach locations in multi-story residential buildings. All seized substances were properly documented and collected as evidence.

Authorities noted that these locations were situated near densely populated areas, schools, and higher education institutions.

A criminal case has now been initiated by customs authorities regarding the incident.

It is worth noting that previously, in Namangan region, individuals were arrested for smuggling 9.702 kilograms of hashish and other potent narcotics valued at over 3.2 billion soums from Kyrgyzstan via alternative routes.
