Metro train temporarily stops in Tashkent (video)

Reports circulated on social media on March 28 claiming that trains had collided at the Pakhtakor metro station in Tashkent and that passengers were stranded for nearly 30 minutes. The Tashkent Metro issued an official statement regarding the incident.
According to the statement, at 11:49 a short-term technical malfunction was detected in train set No. 15, manufactured in 1984, upon its arrival at the “Xalqlar Do‘stligi” metro station.
Following the incident, the train driver promptly informed the dispatcher in accordance with established procedures.
The situation was quickly brought under control, and passengers were safely evacuated at the station. The train was then moved to a technical inspection track.
“We apologize to passengers for the temporary inconvenience caused,” the statement said.
The Tashkent Metro also clarified to Qalampir.uz that no train collision had occurred.
Earlier, a separate incident had been reported in which train set No. 10 traveling from Pushkin station toward Hamid Olimjon station stopped inside a tunnel.
