In Tashkent’s Sergeli district, employees of a car wash stole a customer’s Tracker vehicle. While driving around the city, they were pursued by road patrol officers and, while attempting to flee, crashed into a utility pole, causing a traffic accident. The Tashkent City Main Department of Internal Affairs reported this.
According to the report, the unidentified individuals were first seen driving at high speed in the Chilonzor district, which prompted patrol officers to begin a pursuit. The suspects later caused a traffic accident in the Yakkasaroy district and fled the scene.
It was established that one of the individuals did not have a driver’s license. After the incident, the suspects fled to Samarkand, where they reside, but their identities were soon determined. They were detained and handed over to the Sergeli district investigation department.
A criminal case has been opened against both individuals under Article 267, Part 2, clause “b” of the Criminal Code (vehicle theft committed by an organized group). A pretrial detention measure has been applied, and investigative actions are ongoing.
It is worth noting that earlier reports said that two young people were killed in a traffic accident in Tashkent.
