As a result of operations carried out by the Personal Security Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office, it was established that citizen A.A. introduced himself as an employee of the Prosecutor General’s Office and fraudulently obtained the property of several citizens. The Prosecutor General’s Office reported this.
According to the investigation, A.A. gained the trust of victims B.M. and S.Sh. by telling them they could earn a large profit by purchasing wheat products at a low price and processing them. He then fraudulently obtained 1.7 billion soums from them.
In addition, A.A. learned that a decision by the Tashkent city mayor to allocate a 50-sotix land plot in the Yunus Rajabiy mahalla of Yakkasaray district to an LLC belonging to victim M.T. had been annulled by a ruling of the Supreme Court. He then fraudulently obtained $95,000 from M.T. in exchange for promising to restore the decision.
A.A. also met citizen I.N. through Facebook and gained his trust by saying that he worked at the Prosecutor General’s Office. Later, he promised I.N. that he would exchange his 2014 Cobalt car, valued at $8,500, for a new Gentra. He fraudulently obtained the car, sold it to another person, failed to fulfill his promise and spent the proceeds on his personal needs.
Similarly, A.A. met citizen A.K. and gained her trust by saying that he worked at the Prosecutor General’s Office. According to the investigation, after maintaining a close relationship with her for some time, he obtained a copy of the key to A.K.’s apartment at 23, Building 2, Block 9, Yunusabad district. Taking advantage of the fact that she had gone on a trip, he illegally entered the apartment, secretly stole a large amount of gold jewelry belonging to A.K. and fled the scene.
On June 18, 2026, A.A. was charged under Article 168, Part 4, Clause “a,” Article 169, Part 4, Clause “a,” and other articles of the Criminal Code. Custody was applied as a preventive measure against him.
“If you have information about similar cases, namely that A.A. introduced himself as an employee of the prosecutor’s office and misappropriated money, or if you have suffered from this person’s actions, we ask you to immediately call the Prosecutor General’s Office hotline at 1161. The identity of applicants is guaranteed to remain confidential. Do not trust individuals who introduce themselves as employees of various state bodies and demand money in exchange for services,” the report said.
Earlier, it was reported that a junior sergeant in the reserve who introduced himself as a prosecutor’s office employee had been detained in Kashkadarya region.
