Man detained for carrying a knife in the hallway of a multi-storey building in Tashkent (video)

A video circulating on social media shows an unidentified man walking through the hallway of a multi-storey residential building while holding a knife. The Tashkent City Main Department of Internal Affairs has issued an official statement regarding the incident.

According to the report, at around 01:35 on the night of January 5, a man born in 1984, who was in an intoxicated state, knocked on his neighbor’s door and disturbed residents in one of the multi-storey buildings in Yashnobod district. While in a public place, he unlawfully carried a kitchen item that could be used as a cold weapon, thereby violating public order. District internal affairs officers responded promptly, and the offender was detained under administrative procedures.

As a result of the incident, the Yashnobod District Department of Internal Affairs’ Investigation Division drew up an administrative report against the individual under Articles 183 (minor hooliganism), 185-2 (carrying cold weapons or items that can be used as cold weapons), and 194 (failure to comply with the lawful demands of internal affairs officers) of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. The collected materials were submitted to the Yashnobod District Criminal Court, which sentenced the individual to administrative arrest.

It is worth noting that earlier, a 26-year-old man stabbed two people in Andijan region.
