By the end of this year, all motor vehicles in Tashkent will be issued eco-stickers. This is stated in the presidential decree adopted on March 25 this year, titled “On measures to implement the nationwide ‘Clean Air’ project aimed at improving atmospheric air quality.”

According to the document, by November 1 this year, the Ministry of Energy must develop and submit to the Cabinet of Ministers for approval a program for the modernization and further development of all oil refineries in the country. The program must provide for the production of motor fuels that meet Euro-4 environmental standards by November 1, 2028, and Euro-5 standards from March 1, 2030.

In addition, by the end of 2026, the Ecology Committee must ensure that the territory of Tashkent is divided into red, yellow, and green zones within the framework of the “Ecological Transport” system.

Under the document, by the end of this year, the Ministry of Internal Affairs must take the necessary measures to ensure that all vehicles in Tashkent are issued environmental stickers confirming their ecological category.

It is worth noting that, under the same decree, Uzbekistan will begin holding “Car-Free Day” and “Car-Free Week” campaigns on the 10th and 25th of every month starting from May 1 this year.
