Reports have been circulating on social media suggesting that some preschool institutions in Tashkent may be placed under quarantine. In response, the Sanepid Committee of the Tashkent City Administration issued a statement.
According to the statement, the current epidemiological situation in Tashkent does not indicate the presence of any dangerous infectious diseases that would warrant the introduction of a quarantine.
There are no cases of diseases such as measles, meningitis, hepatitis, or tuberculosis that would require quarantine measures, contrary to the claims circulating online.
“It should be noted that every year, during the winter season, the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections increases among the population. To protect children’s health, educational institutions carry out preventive measures such as morning screenings, temperature checks, temporary isolation of children showing symptoms, and providing guidance to parents. These routine screening procedures have sometimes been mistakenly interpreted as quarantine by certain individuals,” the statement reads.
Previously, the import of animals and birds from India into Uzbekistan was prohibited due to concerns over the Nipah virus.
