One of former U.S. President Donald Trump’s most trusted aides, Sergio Gore, was born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, according to a report by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP).

The report reveals that Gore — described in American media as one of the most influential figures in Trump’s inner circle and responsible for overseeing the appointment of thousands of officials during the Trump administration — was born in Tashkent on November 30, 1986. His full name is Sergio Gorokhovsky.

Gore’s attorney, Robert Garson, confirmed his place of birth. However, Gore himself had long refused to disclose this information. A December 2024 article by "The Washington Post" described his low-profile background and rise to political power but avoided mentioning his birthplace, instead portraying him as an immigrant from Malta.

In June 2025, "The New York Post" also profiled Gore. When asked about his origins, he only stated that he was not born in Russia, again withholding specific details.

According to several sources, Gore spent part of his childhood in Malta. His mother, an Israeli citizen, founded a company there in 1994 and purchased a house in the historic coastal city of Cospicua. In 2021, Gore bought the same house from his mother’s company for €255,000 (\$268,000). The notarized deed reportedly lists Tashkent as his birthplace.

Gore attended De La Salle College, a Catholic boys’ school in Vittoriosa near Cospicua, from 1996 to 1999.

Later, the family relocated to the United States, where Gore became a naturalized citizen and began his political career within the Republican Party. He worked closely with Senator Rand Paul and traveled with him to Moscow in 2018 on a trip funded by the Cato Institute to study U.S.–Russia relations.

Russian border documents also show that Gore visited Moscow in 2017, flying in from Washington on Aeroflot and leaving for Rome the following day. His lawyer described these trips as routine transit and dismissed any suspicions surrounding them.

In 2020, Gore left Rand Paul's office to become the finance director for Trump's re-election campaign. He later co-founded a conservative publishing company, "Winning Team Publishing", together with Donald Trump Jr.
