Trump: Uzbekistan is a wealthy country, Mirziyoyev is a great leader

World

On September 23, negotiations were held between the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of the United States, Donald Trump. The meeting took place at the UN headquarters, on the sidelines of the organization’s 80th anniversary session of the General Assembly.

Trump: Thank you very much. It is a great honor to be with the President of Uzbekistan. I have a lot of respect for him. He has been working for a long time, many years, right? Approximately 15 to 16 years. That is quite a long period. The only reason someone can lead a country for so long is if they are very intelligent and highly skilled. Thank you for being with us. You know, he has purchased various US products. Their funds are sufficient. They also have a lot of oil and plenty of money. Usually, oil brings in good revenue. But as a country, they have achieved very good results, and he is truly a great leader. It is a great honor to be with you again. Thank you.

Mirziyoyev: Thank you. First of all, esteemed Mr. President, I appreciate what you have said and done. You said we would meet today, and here we are. Thank you for that.

I also congratulate you on your profound speech at this morning’s UN session. It was phenomenal. You addressed all the key issues.

Certainly, everything we discussed during our phone conversations is being implemented. I would like to once again congratulate you on resolving seven conflicts worldwide. Most importantly for our region, you found a solution to the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia. I repeat, there is no one more deserving of the Nobel Prize than you. We have said this before, and we continue to say it.

All the matters we have agreed on are being implemented and will continue to be implemented. I look forward to continuing our dialogue, and thank you for the program we will advance together.

Trump: Thank you. You know, the President will speak in about five minutes. He needs to be on the podium. I want to watch him, so maybe, if you want, you can ask a quick question. Quick and good.

Journalist: Mr. President, a person who attempted an assassination against you, Ryan Roose, was tried and found guilty. What is your reaction to this?

Trump: I am very grateful to Pam Bondi, Todd Black, and their team for achieving justice and resolving this matter.

This was truly well-handled and very important. You cannot allow such things to happen, whether it involves me, the President, or an ordinary person. Justice has been served, and we will see what happens.

I also deeply respect the judge, the jury, and everyone involved. The case was handled very professionally. It is a great honor.

Journalist: Mr. President, today you are meeting with Muslim and Arab leaders to discuss a war plan regarding Gaza. Can you tell us anything about this?

Trump: It will be a major meeting, a very important meeting. But right now I am also holding an important meeting because he is buying our billion-dollar equipment. We produce the best equipment in the world. We make sure it is perfect for you.

Journalist: Mr. President, are there any additional agreements with Uzbekistan?

Trump: We are discussing several major things. Today and over the past few days, he has done several big projects. Our relations are good. We have met before, and our relations are excellent. He is a very respected person and a leader.

Mirziyoyev: Since 2018, $19.4 billion worth of contracts have been signed with America, and by 2025, this reached $105 billion.

Trump: 105 billion. That’s not bad. Worth a five-minute meeting, right? Do you agree? Look at all these beautiful tractors. 105 billion dollars.

Well, from 2018 to 2024, he made purchases worth 19.4 billion dollars, and now it’s 105 billion dollars. This is a huge honor.

You know, I think I haven’t met him enough. If he is going to make purchases worth 105 million, I will meet him 15–20 times. That’s really amazing.

Go ahead and give a great speech. Thank you. It’s a great honor. You are an amazing person.

Mirziyoyev: Thank you very much. I will still be waiting for you in Uzbekistan. The first visit must happen. You promised me to visit Samarkand for the first time.

Trump: I like him. I am thinking about making it happen. Really an amazing operation, an amazing team of people, a very smart country, and they did a great job. I am grateful that you purchased American products. Thank you. We will be there for you.
