US President Donald Trump conveyed his and the American people’s sincere greetings and congratulations to Uzbekistan’s leader, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the people of Uzbekistan, wishing them happiness, success, and new achievements in the New Year. He expressed these wishes during a telephone conversation with the President of Uzbekistan on December 23.
At the beginning of the conversation, Shavkat Mirziyoyev also congratulated the US President on the upcoming New Year holidays, extending wishes of peace, prosperity, and well-being to the friendly American people.
The presidents reviewed the progress in implementing agreements reached at the highest level and discussed prospects for further developing the Uzbekistan–US strategic partnership.
The Uzbek leader highly praised President Donald Trump’s achievements in domestic and foreign policy this year, highlighting his effective efforts to resolve acute international crises and conflicts.
It was noted with satisfaction that bilateral political dialogue and exchanges, particularly at the level of heads of state, have intensified, opening a new stage in the development of strategic partnership between the two countries and enriching it with concrete substance.
For reference, Shavkat Mirziyoyev last met with Donald Trump on November 7 this year (November 6 Washington time) at the White House. At the time, Trump wrote on his Truth Social page that over the next three years Uzbekistan would invest and carry out purchases worth nearly $35 billion in key US sectors, including critical minerals, aviation, automotive components, infrastructure, agriculture, energy and chemicals, information technology, and other strategic industries. He also noted that investments and purchases could exceed $100 billion over the next decade.
It is worth noting that following today’s phone call, Trump also wrote on Truth Social that he had invited the Uzbek leader to attend the G20 summit as a guest.
