The bodies of four Uzbek citizens who died in Türkiye over the past three days this year will be repatriated. The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul reported this.
It should be noted that on June 11, 31-year-old Uzbek citizen A.H., her Turkish husband and their two-month-old child died in a traffic accident on Istanbul’s Northern Marmara Highway.
The accident occurred at around 6:00 a.m. on the Northern Marmara Highway in the Cekmekoy area. A passenger car driven by Sadik Gunden, 29, which was returning from Sabiha Gokcen Airport, crashed into the back of a truck moving in the same direction. As a result of the collision, the car went under the truck. The driver, Sadik Gunden, his Uzbek wife Aziza Hatamova Gunden, 31, and their two-month-old baby, Timur Khan Gunden, were trapped inside the vehicle. They were removed by firefighters who arrived at the scene. However, all three family members died at the scene.
On June 12, 23-year-old Uzbek citizen N.M. died from serious injuries sustained in a traffic accident in Tuzla district.
In addition, on June 13, another Uzbek citizen, a 58-year-old woman who had long been battling an oncological disease, died at one of Istanbul’s hospitals.
“The Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Istanbul expresses its deep condolences to the family members and relatives of the deceased. In cooperation with the Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the consulate is providing the necessary consular and legal assistance regarding the repatriation of the bodies and other related matters,” the statement said.
