Uzbekistan ranked among states with lowest internet costs

Uzbekistan has been included in the list of countries with the cheapest internet. The average cost of home internet in the country is $11.7 per month. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing data from the Federal State Statistics Service of Russia and statistics from various countries.

According to the publication, among major economies, Russia ranked second in terms of affordable home internet – $8.7 per month. The cheapest internet is in India, at $7.7. Romania closes the top three with $9.8 per month.

The list of countries with the lowest internet prices also includes:

  • China – $11.3;
  • Uzbekistan – $11.5;
  • Kazakhstan – $12.7;
  • Turkey – $13.8;
  • Bulgaria – $14.6;
  • Lithuania – $16.5.

The top 15 is rounded out by Poland ($17.2), Georgia ($17.4), Thailand ($18.4), Armenia ($19.1), and Latvia ($19.7).

The most expensive internet was recorded in the US ($72.1), Canada ($61.7), and Luxembourg ($59.1). They were followed by Belgium ($56.9), Ireland ($55.1), Australia ($53.6), Germany ($50.7), the Netherlands ($50.6), Portugal ($43), and South Africa ($42.3).

The list of the 15 countries with the most expensive internet also included the United Kingdom ($42.1), Slovenia ($40.8), Austria and Sweden (both $39.9), as well as France ($35.3).

However, the internet accounts for the largest share of household income in Brazil (4.1 percent), Mexico (3.8 percent), and Argentina (3.65 percent). The smallest share was recorded in Russia (0.67 percent), Romania (0.9 percent), and South Korea (0.97 percent).

It is worth noting that earlier it was reported that in January–August 2025, the share of the population using the internet in Uzbekistan reached 94.2 percent.
