Uzbekistan has established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Kenya in East Africa, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan reported.
According to the statement, Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov met with Kenyan Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi.
During the meeting, a communique on establishing diplomatic relations was signed.
Notably, Kenya becomes the 164th country to establish diplomatic relations with Uzbekistan.
Kenya is a country located in East Africa, with its capital in Nairobi. Its name is derived from the highest mountain in the country, Mount Kenya. The country covers an area of approximately 582,000 square kilometers and has a population of over 55 million. The official languages are English and Swahili. Kenya has a republican system of government, with the President serving as the head of state. It gained independence from the United Kingdom in 1963. The country’s economy is primarily driven by agriculture, tourism, and the service sector. Kenya is known for producing tea, coffee, and flowers, as well as maize, sugarcane, and wheat.
It is worth noting that earlier, a joint communique was signed establishing diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Saint Lucia in New York, USA.
