In 2025, vaccination coverage against infectious diseases in Uzbekistan reached 95 percent nationwide, with 5.6 million children immunized with 13 types of vaccines. The figures were announced on February 24 during a press conference held by the Committee for Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health on measures to ensure sanitary and epidemiological stability.

According to the committee, in 2025 a total of 2,434,900 test kits were provided for screening examinations for viral hepatitis B and C, which pose serious threats to human health.

In addition, between 2022 and 2025, 47,732 patients diagnosed with chronic viral hepatitis C were fully treated with medications funded by the state budget and supplied with the assistance of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Earlier, the World Health Organization revoked Uzbekistan’s measles-free status due to an increase in reported cases in recent years.
