Used electric vehicle sales rise in Uzbekistan

In October of this year, sales of electric vehicles in Uzbekistan’s secondary market exceeded 3,000 units, according to a report by the Center for Economic Research and Reforms.
Total sales of all types of vehicles in the country reached 112,500 units in October, marking an 11 percent increase compared with September. Sales activity grew across all major market segments.
In both primary and secondary markets, the passenger car segment saw a monthly increase of 12.7 percent, totaling 95,400 units. The strongest growth was recorded in Namangan, Jizzakh, and Bukhara regions, where sales rose by more than 20 percent. Meanwhile, activity in Samarkand and the Republic of Karakalpakstan declined slightly.
In the primary market, passenger car sales increased by nearly 19 percent in October, equivalent to an additional 6,000 vehicles sold. Within this segment, locally manufactured new passenger cars reached 33,400 units, a 22 percent increase from the previous month.
Sales of new foreign vehicles grew slightly (+1.1 percent) to 4,500 units compared with September.
In the secondary market for new cars, sales rose 9 percent from September, reaching 57,400 units.
Electric vehicle sales in the secondary market surpassed 3,000 units, showing a monthly increase of 15.2 percent. This figure is more than 2.3 times higher than the same period last year.
