In Uzbekistan, master farmers will be eligible for subsidies of up to 75 million soums. This was stated in the President’s decree adopted on February 5 this year, titled “On Measures to Increase Incomes, Create Sustainable Jobs, and Reduce Poverty in 2026 through the Development of Regions with New Approaches.”
According to the decree, the Fund for Supporting the Activities of Farms and Household Plots will introduce the following financial support instruments:
- Subsidies for master farmers to encourage the cultivation of high-value crops: 2 million soums for specializing 10 households and up to 75 million soums for specializing 30 percent of households in a community.
- Subsidies for reconstructing inefficient old orchards and establishing new ones on household or leased land:
- 50 percent of the cost of certified fruit tree seedlings, not exceeding 30,000 soums per seedling depending on the type of fruit;
- 50 percent of the cost of each installed support post (trellis), not exceeding 70,000 soums depending on the type of fruit;
- Up to 160,000 soums per sotik (100 square meters) for installing rainwater collection or drip irrigation systems;
- In areas with limited water supply, subsidies will cover 70 percent of the cost (up to 200 million soums) for drilling vertical wells and installing solar panels with a capacity of at least 10 kW to irrigate household or leased plots.
It is worth noting that earlier reports indicated that starting in 2027, “smart” water meters will be mandatory in rice fields and fishery areas across Uzbekistan.
