As part of his official visit to Hungary, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting today, on May 20, with Sándor Csányi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OTP Bank Group. The meeting was part of the business program of the visit, according to the Presidential Press Service.

During the discussion, both sides expressed satisfaction with the dynamic progress of OTP Bank’s operations in Uzbekistan’s financial sector since its entry into the market in 2023.

President Mirziyoyev welcomed the bank’s involvement in joint programs, particularly those aimed at expanding auto loans and financing business projects across the country.

One of the key topics of the meeting was the prompt implementation of a major project to establish a poultry cluster in Uzbekistan, which is expected to contribute to food security and agricultural development.

Support for Hungarian companies operating in Uzbekistan was also discussed, with particular emphasis on facilitating their participation in the newly established industrial park in the Tashkent region.

The President’s visit to Budapest began earlier the same day with a broader meeting involving the heads of major Hungarian companies and financial institutions.
