Portugal, Uzbekistan national team’s opponent at the World Cup, played a friendly match on June 10. The Portuguese side defeated Nigeria 2-1.
The match, held in the Portuguese city of Leiria, ended with a victory for the hosts. Pedro Neto scored for Portugal in the 23rd minute, while Francisco Conceicao added another goal in the 75th minute. Nigeria’s only goal was scored by Akor Adams in the 37th minute.
Cristiano Ronaldo also took part in the match and was substituted in the 65th minute.
Portugal is in the same group as Uzbekistan at the World Cup. The match between the two national teams will take place in the United States on June 23 this year.
Nigeria will not participate in the World Cup after failing to qualify.
Earlier, Uzbekistan lost both of its friendly matches held ahead of the World Cup.
