Uzbekistan’s first Ambassador presents credentials to the Prince of Monaco

On October 7, the newly appointed first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to the Principality of Monaco (with residence in Paris), Nodir Ganiev, presented his credentials to Prince Albert II. The news was reported by the Dunyo information agency.

During the conversation that followed the official ceremony, Prince Albert II highly commended the progress of the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Known for his commitment to environmental protection, the Prince of Monaco expressed interest in the development of large-scale renewable energy projects in Uzbekistan, noting the country’s efforts to transition to a green economy and its goal of producing 54 percent of electricity from renewable sources by 2030.

Prince Albert II also congratulated Uzbekistan on hosting the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand this October–November, describing it as a clear reflection of the country’s openness to the international community and its active foreign policy.

For his part, Ambassador Ganiev expressed his readiness to make every effort to further strengthen relations between Uzbekistan and Monaco.

Diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Monaco were established on November 29, 2013.

Nodir Ganiev was appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan to France and presented his credentials to President Emmanuel Macron in September 2024. Since May 2025, he has also served as Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Portugal.

It is worth noting that earlier, the first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to the Republic of South Africa, Ashraf Khojaev, presented his credentials to President Cyril Ramaphosa at the Sefako Makgatho Presidential Hotel in Pretoria.
