Uzhydromet issues urgent warning

Due to expected precipitation and fluctuations in air temperature between January 21 and 26, 2026, there is a risk of avalanches in the mountainous regions of Uzbekistan. Uzhydromet has issued an urgent warning to this effect.
According to the warning, avalanche hazards may occur in the following areas:
- In Kashkadarya Region: Dehqonobod, Kitob, Qamashi, and Shahrisabz districts;
- In Surkhandarya Region: Boysun, Kumkurgan, Sariosiyo, and Uzun districts;
- In Samarkand Region: Nurobod, Qo‘shrabot, Samarkand, and Urgut districts;
- In Jizzakh Region: Bakhmal and Zomin districts;
- In Tashkent Region: Bostanliq, Parkent, and Ohangaron districts (Chatkal mountain range);
- In Namangan Region: Pop district.
Residents of mountainous areas, tourists, and drivers traveling through mountain roads are urged to take necessary safety precautions.
