A person who was engaged in fraud by opening multiple profiles in women’s names on the internet has been arrested. This was reported by the Tashkent Regional Main Internal Affairs Directorate (MIID).
It is noted that the citizen, born in 2005 and residing in the Yangiyul district of the Tashkent region, created fake advertisements on a trading platform and established around 10 accounts under women's names on the Telegram social network. Introducing himself as a different person, he took advance payments from citizens under the pretext of selling cheap iPhone-brand phones. He then transferred the funds to bank cards belonging to other individuals and spent the money for his personal needs.
Furthermore, during the operation, the bank cards and phone numbers used as instruments of the crime were seized as material evidence. During the preliminary investigation, it was exposed that this individual had committed eight similar crimes in the Nurafshon, Ohangaron, Urtachirchik, Yukorichirchik, Buka, Kibray, and Tashkent districts of the Tashkent region.
A criminal case has been initiated against the suspect under Article 168 (Fraud), Part 3, Paragraphs "b, g" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and investigative actions have commenced.
